Yiannis Batsis was born in Volos, Greece.
Prior to joining the HR world, Yiannis was working in hotel operations, with his last role being a Front Office Manager. In 2009, he joined Costa Navarino (Greece) as an HR Manager.
3 years later, Yiannis moved to Brussels to join Starwood Hotels & Resorts (currently Marriott) corporate office, where he held the role of Talent Development Manager for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) for approx. 260 hotels. In 2018, he moved to London and joined Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA corporate office, as the Learning & Development Partner for the company’s 500 hotels across the region. Yiannis has conceptualized, developed, launched, and applied numerous Talent/HR Programs many of which have become Best Practices in the companies he has been working for. Yiannis believes in lifetime learning and self-development; therefore, he is accredited user for several HR and Talent Development tools, as well as certified senior HR professional by SHRM, the Society for HR Management in the USA. He teaches HR and Hospitality modules in colleges, and he delivers training sessions for SETE. “I can live my whole life in a hotel” he often says, and therefore, he travels as much as he can.
