Andreas Metaxas was born and raised in Heraklion, Crete. He is a graduate of the School of Tourism David Speiser Hotelberufsfachschule in Germany as well as the School of Social Sciences of the Hellenic Open University of Patras with a Degree in Business Administration and Organizations. He is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Environmental Management and Management Strategies at the Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Between 1983 and 1998 he worked in various departments within the Metaxa Hospitality Group until he became the Group’s CEO in 1999. The Metaxa Hospitality Group consists of 5*, Creta Maris Beach Resort, the 5*, TUI Magic Life Candia Maris, the 5*, Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa and the Creta Convention Center.

Mr. Andreas Metaxas is the Founder Member of the Board of Directors of “We do local – Local Production and Hospitality SA”. He is also the Honorary Consul of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland in Eastern Crete.
